Happy Easter

Just a quick post to wish you all a Happy Easter. We are on holiday in the West Country - mainly for Spring Harvest, a Christian Conference at Butlins/Minehead on the coast of beautiful Exmoor. Programme will start tonight and will be pretty full-on as usual, so I don't think I'll find time to do another post before Easter - therefore, have a wonderful Easter holiday everybody!!!

Highland Ball - and new layouts

Here are some more layouts I quickly produced for the challenge I mentioned yesterday. Two of them are worked restrospectively for February and March, but the third is brandnew - as new as last night actually, and I've only just finished it. I went to my first Highland Ball last night - Scottish Dancing event with lots of dancing, a little buffet dinner, everybody nicely dressed up, and none of the dances walked through or even recapped, so you had to know what you were doing. It was quite a challenge but I managed most of the dances, so it was real good fun.

New Challenge: Year at a Day

Oh, I can't believe it - I have talked myself into starting on yet another long-time scrapbooking challenge! This one is with one of the digital forums and it's called "A year in my life - A month at a time". You are supposed to scrap at least 3 days in your week, preferably more, to cover anything special (personally or general), i.e. birthdays and special events, bank holidays and celebrations, vacation etc... The challenge started at the beginning of the year - so I'll have to try and work my way backwards but at the same time trying to keep up with at least 3 layouts a week of current stuff. So I sat down and made my first 3 today, for this week, and I thought I share them with you...

More Spring Stuff

Despite the fact, that the weather isn't very spring-like at the moment (it turned to cold, frost and hailstorms since Sunday!), I feel like showing the rest of my spring flower layouts...

Change of Topic: SPRING

Spring has been pushing in here so strongly at the moment, that I couldn't resist taking some photos of the views and the garden, and of course I want to share them with you. I love this time of year, especially if - like this week - it comes with lots of sunshine: it just makes my heart jump with joy! Here's what I see if I look out the window in my study:

Beautiful Poinsettia

Of course, there's no Christmas party without presents, and so it was at Woodlands, too. It took a good long time to distribute the huge heap that had accommulated underneath the "Camouflage Tree". My FIL, Bob, as the host, had the honours of picking and reading out the names, and all the kids helped him, full of excitement, by bringing them to the person they were destined for. Of course, in reality they were only waiting for their own presents, and as soon as one turned up, Bob lost another helper for a while...
I got some really nice presents this year including a lovely fluffy dressing gown and a Victorian photobook to use for some photos of our Blessing of Marriage last year, and a gorgeous specimen of Poinsettia. I'm usually useless with plants and these aren't too easy to keep, so all the ones I've had before died a pretty quick death. However, this one is still going strong 2 1/2 months later - I reckon it is stronger because it was already so big - it's about 1/2 metre high!

Boxing Day at Woodlands

Back to our Christmas adventures of this winter - now I have some LOs with photos taken at the annual family get-together at Woodlands. Woodlands is my FIL's house and it's big enough to hold the 30-odd members of the Hudson family... Our Boxing Day parties there are always great fun - very informal with bring+share buffet, lots of games, dogs and kids running about... You can see it in the LOs today and some more to come.

Winter Ade

This is a layout with a picture I took a short time ago, in February - the first blossoms of our Japanese Quince bush (which is now in full bloom) with some rather soft snow on it. The snow lasted hardly any time at all...and now I think spring is well on its way. Welcome!!!
